SOLID STATE ELECTRONIC BLASTING UNIT
Section I - Mechanical
Case Material: Heavy Duty Urethane
Case Size: 3"W x 1.5"D x 4"H (7.6cm W x 3.81cm D x 10.13cm H)
Weight: 15.8 oz. (0.312 kg)
Type Circuitry: Solid State Electronic
Firing Voltage: 220 VDC Min. - 225 VDC Max.
Firing Energy: 4.0 Joules (w/s)

Section II - Operating Procedures
TO TEST: Before connecting to blasting circuit; depress "CHARGE" switch
until "READY" light illuminates. While maintaining pressure on "Charge"
switch depress "DETONATE" switch. "READY" light should go off immediately.
Caution: Do NOT relax "Charge" switch when depressing "Detonate" switch.
The HB-50 utilizes a dual switch firing mechanism to assure the blaster's
conviction to detonate.
When "READY" light fails to illuminate replace the 9V Alkaline
Cell under battery cap on right side of machine. Observe cap position when
replacing cap so as not to cross thread.
TO OPERATE: Connect machine to the blasting circuit and repeat "CHARGE"
and "DETONATE" sequence as in "TO TEST."
Section III - Handling & Care
To maintain the proper functionality of your Scorpion L-50 Blasting unit
please observe the following:
a. Avoid severe impact. The L-50 is impact resistant however
severe localized or blunt impact could crack and/or breach
the L-50's casing. NEVER USE THIS UNIT IF ITS CASE IS
CRACKED OR BREACHED. In this instance please see
Section V - Servicing.
b. Avoid wrenching, impacting, or over-tightening binding posts.
Should this happen to the binding posts the protective
plastic shielding may become damaged or removed. SHOCK
HAZARD: If the protective plastic shielding is removed from
one or both of the binding posts potentially lethal voltage
exists to a grounded blaster should contact be made with the
exposed binding post at discharge. See Section V
- Servicing for maintenance and repair information.
c. After daily use clear debris and/or dust from in and around
switches and binding posts and store it in a safe and dry
d. NEVER use your L-50 as a lever or impact device.
e. NEVER use your L-50 as an alternate energy source on equipment
for which it was not designed.
f. Output oscillograms are recorded on every machine by the
g. NEVER USE A DAMAGED OR QUESTIONABLE MACHINE. For repair and
servicing see Section V - Servicing.
Section IV - Labeling
The L-50's face plates includes operating instructions and the unit's
serial number. Should these labels become unlegible or are removed
see Section V - Servicing for replacement.
