SOLID STATE ELECTRONIC BLASTING UNIT
Section I - Mechanical

Case Material: Heavy Duty Urethane
Case Size: 3"W x 1.5"D x 5.375"H (7.6cm W x 3.81cm D x 13.65cm H)
Weight: 11 oz. (0.312 kg)
Type Circuitry: Solid State Electronic
Firing Voltage: 140 VDC Min. - 150 VDC Max.
Firing Energy: 1.0 Joule (1.0 w/s)
Power Source: 2 Ea. 1.5V Alkaline Dry Cells ('AA' Cells, NEDA 15A)

Section II - Operating Procedures

TO TEST: Before connecting to blasting circuit; charge by pressing switch
to "CHARGE" position. When "READY" light illuminates press switch to
"DETONATE" position. "READY" light should go off immediately.

For the practical purposes of these instructions "READY WHEN FULLY LIT"
is to indicate that the ready light be of singular and even luminesce
quality before pressing "DETONATE."

When "READY" light fails to illuminate replace the two (2) Alkaline 'AA'
Cells under battery cover on front of machine. Observe polarity when
replacing cells and replace cover.

TO OPERATE: Connect machine to the blasting circuit and repeat "CHARGE"
and "DETONATE" sequence as in "TO TEST."

Section III - Handling & Care

To maintain the proper functionality of your Scorpion HB-12 Blasting unit
please observe the following:

a. Avoid severe impact. The HB-12 is impact resistant however
severe localized or blunt impact could crack and/or breach
the HB-12's casing. NEVER USE THIS UNIT IF ITS CASE IS
CRACKED OR BREACHED. In this instance please see
Section V - Servicing.
b. Avoid leaving the HB-12 partially or fully submerged in water.
should your HB-12 become partially or fully submerged in
water towel dry the machine including switch and binding
posts. Remove front battery compartment cover and replace
the two (2) Alkaline 'AA' cells to prevent possible battery
corrosion. Dry off inside battery compartment with a towel and
leave the machine in open air to dry. Should battery
corrosion occur refer to Section V - Servicing.
c. Avoid wrenching, impacting, or over-tightening binding posts.
Should this happen to the binding posts the protective
plastic shielding may become damaged or removed. SHOCK
HAZARD: If the protective plastic shielding is removed from
one or both of the binding posts potentially lethal voltage
exists to a grounded blaster should contact be made with the
exposed binding post at discharge. See Section V
- Servicing for maintenance and repair information.
d. After daily use clear debris and/or dust from in and around
switch bezel and store it in a safe and dry environment.
e. NEVER use your HB-12 as a lever or impact device.
f. NEVER use your HB-12 as an alternate energy source on equipment
for which it was not designed.
g. Output oscillograms are recorded on every machine by the
manufacturer. If you need a copy of these test traces
contact E.I.T. Corporation at (570) 286-7744. For annual
or biannual maintenance programs: Testing and output traces
are available by the manufacturer. See Section V - Servicing
for return information.
h. NEVER USE A DAMAGED OR QUESTIONABLE MACHINE. For repair and
servicing see Section V - Servicing.

Section IV - Labeling

The HB-12's face plate includes operating instructions and the unit's
serial number. Should this label become unlegible or is removed
see Section V - Servicing for replacement.
